Kia Reveals their Sporty Side at SEMA 2011

Kia showed off their sporty side this year at the SEMA show. But don't get "sporty" confused with a high performance rally car! But even for Kia, these are new waters.

One Kia concept that made a splash at the show was a brown-colored Retro Surf Rio5. This car features:

  • 17-inch, three-piece gold wheels
  • Wood-grain finished surfboard mounted on the roof
  • Wood front splitter
  • Board-short-inspired upholstery

When you take a step back to admire this vehicle, you will realize that it's a wave rider's dream car come true.

The Kia that made a slam-dunk appearance at SEMA, which comes to nobody's surprise, was the Blake Griffin Kia Optima Hybrid. In honor of Blake Griffin himself and the amazing leap he took over a Kia Optima to win the slam-dunk contest last year. Some of the features of this vehicle include:

  • Court-inspired flooring
  • Pop-a-Shot basketball hoop in the trunk
  • A flat-screen TV
  • Xbox360

If you would rather spend your day playing the back 9, Kia has something for you, too. Named the 2012 Kia Soul Hole-In-One, it has been designed by graphics inspired by Michelle Wie's own customized golf bags. Also featuring:

  • A golfer logo embroidered into the car's leather headrests.
  • Xbox 360 with Kinect
  • Two golf bags
  • Speakers designed for a true entertainment experience

Kia didn't leave out those hockey or racing fans either. For those who can't get enough time on the ice, they presented the Hat Trick Forte hatch. And, for all racing fiends - the Rio5 has been prepped for the upcoming Sports Car Club of America B-spec racing series.

Given the diverse array of customized models Kia presented at SEMA, KIA is getting a lot of positive feedback. The question is whether it's enough to win consumers production models. Stay tuned, because Central Kia of Lewisville located at 2920 N. I35E, Carrollton, TX, is dedicated to keeping you informed!
